Marimba, mbira, vocals, dances, and drums are the main focus in this festival.
Theme: "Through Creative Arts, Every Story Finds Its Voice"
Music connects people together across the entire globe and allows them to express themselves in so many ways that words cannot. A lot of people tend to tie their favorite tune to a special memory or time in their life. And music has a way of lifting people’s spirits, even when they’re in their darkest moments.
Our organization’s mission is to make use of musical activities to address issues of concern in our society as well as bring people together, market, and advertise our Musical Arts and Culture. Our 2026 drive and objectives are centered on the following.
To use music, dance, poetry, and other musical activities as platforms to address issues of concern in society, including but not limited to drug abuse, mental wellness, identity loss, youth challenges, and social responsibility. Through performances and engagement, the festival encourages dialogue, awareness, and positive change.
To provide a safe and inclusive space where participants can express their personal and collective stories through creative arts. The festival empowers young and professional artists to communicate experiences, challenges, and hopes using African musical and performance traditions.
To bring together schools, artists, and communities from different regions and backgrounds, promoting cultural exchange, mutual understanding, and appreciation of African musical arts. The festival strengthens unity through shared performances and collaborative activities.
To identify untapped talent and support the growth of young artists through exposure, mentorship, and performance opportunities. The festival serves as a launchpad for artistic development and confidence building.
To market, advertise, and celebrate African musical arts and culture in both traditional and contemporary forms. The festival ensures that cultural heritage remains relevant, vibrant, and accessible to present and future generations.
To support schools by providing platforms for performance, learning, and professional exchange. Through workshops, adjudication, and feedback, the festival enhances music education and encourages excellence in arts programs.
To bring people together through music and cultural activities that inspire responsibility, positive values, and collective growth. The festival promotes arts as a tool for building strong, informed, and engaged communities.
To grow Giamari’s impact beyond the main festival through outreach programs, cultural exchanges, school collaborations, and community-based performances, extending the reach of African arts locally and internationally.
